Once a spirited girl riding horses on Panama City Beach, Fla., and running powerboats in the Gulf of Mexico waters beyond, Kruis Retherford has grit. Retherford is the owner of GSX/Glasstream Powerboats in Dothan, Ala., which makes her a woman in a decidedly male world. In fact, she is the only sole woman proprietor of a performance-oriented boat company in the country and she has built a solid brand.

And her gender doesn’t matter—at least to her. She knows the boat business is challenging for everyone who chooses to be part of it. After a successful real estate in Central Florida, she chose it eyes wide open.
In the new GSX line of sporty and stylish center consoles, Retherford and her team have reinvented their own brand. But reinvention is nothing new to her as you’ll learn in the latest Speed On The Water/Scrapyard Media “In The Lead” series video. She simply makes things happen through will, determination and lots and lots of smarts.
Retherford isn’t just inspiring to women in the marine industry. She’s an inspiration, period.
